Dave Pomeroy is a bassist, writer and producer who has played on hundreds of albums with artists such as Elton John, Emmylou Harris, Sting, Alison Krauss, Peter Frampton and Don Williams. Born in Naples, Italy he lived around the world before becoming a mainstay in the Nashville music scene. Over the past 20 years, he has raised over $250,000 for Nashville’s ‘Room In The Inn’ homeless program with his annual benefit concerts and CDs. Since 2008, Dave has served as the president of the Nashville Musician Association and in 2010 he was elected to the International Executive Board of the American Federation of Musicians.
In this episode of The Creative Life Podcast, Dave talks about how he is trying to balance being a musician and being a representative of musicians as president of the Nashville Musicians Association. He shares with us his story on how he started from playing the string bass and moved to playing the bass guitar. Dave tells us more about being a studio musician and a touring musician.
