In this episode of The Creative Life Podcast I talk with Italian author, actor, journalist and singer Isabelle Adriani about creative storytelling, fairy tales and open quantum relativity!

After gaining a PHD in History from the University of Perugia with a thesis entitled “The DNA of Fairy Tale” she has gone on to star in more than 30 movies and published eight books on fairy tales as well as two historical novels. As an actor she has starred alongside George Clooney in The American, John Cusack in Reclaim, and with Penelope Cruz in the film Twice Born. You can also hear her voice in the Italian versions of hit animations Alvin & The Chipmunks and Ice Age. Isabelle's latest book, that has just been translated into English, is called ‘Castaways in Time’, a story about three English orphans who are shipwrecked on the mysterious Island of Time and she also has a new album coming out called To Movies with Love.

In this episode of The Creative Life Podcast I talk with singer-songwriter Melissa Ferrick about the process of creative songwriting.

Melissa, an eight time Boston music award winner, is regarded as one of the most prolific and hard working artists in the business. She performs regularly throughout North America with up to 100 shows a year and has shared the stage with Morrisey, John Hyatt, Bob Dylan, Ani DiFranco, K.D Lang, Suzanne Vega, Shawn Colvin and many many others. Her 12th original album, a coming home and a self titled album, is in many ways a new beginning for Ferrick. Written in just over a year, recorded at home, it's out now on her newly relaunched label Right On Records.

We discuss the power of building a loyal fanbase of true fans and Melissa shares with us why accepting help is her biggest weakness and how she coped up.

Melissa Ferrick 'Creative Songwriting' Show Notes:

In this episode of The Creative Life Podcast global disability inclusion strategist Debra Ruh talks about brainstorming, innovation and speaking at the UN.

When told by ‘experts’ that her daughter, Sara, who was born with Down’s Syndrome, would be lucky to push shopping carts at the local grocery store, Debra refused to accept this. Debra Ruh’s unshakable faith in the power of human potential first led her to create multi-million dollar IT firm Tec-Access, an ICT Accessibility firm with the majority of employees being technologists with disabilities.

After exiting that business she started Ruh Global, which focuses on Global Disability Inclusion, Digital Marketing and the implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. She now consults with governments, corporations, NGO’s, and travels the world inspiring and encouraging others to follow their dreams. Her latest book is called “Tapping Into Hidden Human Capital: How Leading Companies Improve Their Bottom Line by Employing Persons with Disabilities”.

"I just don't let him stop me. I just walk right into him. I'm not gonna let anybody stop me including myself."

"I'm gonna look fear in the face and I'm gonna walk right through him."
