I spend much of my year as a creativity and innovation keynote speaker attending global conferences and creativity workshops in various parts of the world. I've also been fascinated by the differences in terms of how creativity is thought about in the West versus the East. When I ask an executive in New York what creativity means to them they describe "something coming from nothing" or what creativity experts call 'create ex nihilio'. However on a recent talk in Asia I asked the same question and creativity what described as "taking two ideas and arranging them in some new way". In today's episode of The Creative Life TV Show I talk about the origins of why creativity and innovation is thought about in different ways depending on where you are in the world.
