Jamie Metzl is a technology futurist, geopolitical expert, novelist, entrepreneur, media commentator, and Senior Fellow of the Atlantic Council. In February 2019, he was appointed to the World Health Organization expert advisory committee on developing global standards for the governance and oversight of human genome editing. Jamie previously served in the U.S. National Security Council, State Department, Senate Foreign Relations Committee and as a Human Rights Officer for the United Nations in Cambodia. His latest book is called ‘Hacking Darwin: Genetic Engineering and the Future of Humanity. Ray Kurzweil calls the book “an outstanding guide to the most important conversations of our lives – how we humans will hijack our evolutionary process and transcend the limits of our own biology”.
